What is the collaboration?
Polkadex OU is developing a TEE-inspired Layer 2 technology on Substrate.io in partnership with Supercomputing Systems AG. This collaboration is crucial for delivering the full functionality of Polkadex Orderbook.
Polkadex Orderbook is a non-custodial peer-to-peer Layer 2 based
cryptocurrency exchange built on the Polkadex Network.
SCS AG, a company based in Zurich, Switzerland, brings to the table 25 years of experience in electronics, software and system design.
What is the technology we are building?
The unique technology called SubstraTEE, Trusted Execution Environment on Substrate, is a framework for Parity Substrate allowing to call a custom state transition function (STF) inside a (TEE), namely an Intel SGX enclave thereby providing confidentiality and integrity.
The enclaves operate on an encrypted state which can be read and written only by a set of provisioned and remote-attested enclaves. The project is supported by grants from the Web3 Foundation and the Polkadot treasury.
“TEE helps to maximize the throughput and performance of a decentralized exchange. It creates an operator acting simply as a trade facilitator with no access to customer funds, thus making the trading process efficient and safe”, said Gautham J, CEO, Polkadex.
