September at Polkadex
An amazing month capped off by the launch f the Polkadex Mainnet!
While September brought summer to an end, things at Polkadex only got hotter and hotter as the month went along. It ended the highest of notes as the Polkadex Mainnet was successfully launched on September 29th! Catch up with all the highlights from September here.
September was definitely the most important month yet in terms of product development. The month started in full swing with the Tokenomics update on the Testnet. This update mirrored the token economics of the Mainnet in the Testnet environment and was one of the last steps needed before the Mainnet was ready to launch. The last Testnet ‘test’ necessary for the launch of the Mainnet came with the Testnet migration update, which had testers migrate test tokens from the Ropsten Ethereum Testnet to the Polkadex Testnet. The migration on the Testnet gave the team the necessary data to proceed with the Mainnet launch. Throughout the different updates and Testnet versions, the Testnet had over 3,000 participants at its largest point, with hundreds of validator nodes spread around the world.
In one of the last few days of the month, September 26th to be exact, the Polkadex Mainnet went live. On September 29th, the Mainnet was released to the public and the one-way PDEX migration bridge from Ethereum to Polkadex was opened. This marks the most important milestone yet for Polkadex as the Mainnet is the foundation upon which all of its products will be built. At the time of writing (September 30th), there are over 40 validator nodes validating or waiting to validate and over 90 nominators staking their PDEX with the validators. The amount of PDEX being staked is currently around 217,000 PDEX, which is around $4,000,000. If you want to participate in the Polkadex Mainnet make sure you read the article below:
The month in product development wasn’t all releases however. For example, the PolkaIDO launchpad was demoed and deployed to the internal Testnet. Also, significant progress was made on Polkadex Orderbook as detailed completion milestones were set internally. Expect more news in October!
Polkadex was in the spotlight in a big way in September after being featured in articles by over 100 different publications in over 15 languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Turkish, Tamil, Russian, Polish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Thai and others. Some of the articles included features or mentions by Yahoo, Coingape, CryptoDaily, CryptoNewsZ, Investing.com, The Daily Hodl, Bitcoinist, U.Today, and more
It wasn’t only articles though! Polkadex was also featured in over 50 different YouTube videos by all kinds of influencers including Crypto Banter, Jungle Inc, Crypto Futuro, Crypto Profit, Hustlepedia, and lots more awesome YouTubes. Moreover, this month our Executive Director, Vivek Prasannan, participated in the first-ever Substrate Saturday industry event by Polkadot India an did an AMA with Team Crypto in Malayalam! Polkadex didn’t just get the spotlight from publications and YouTube during September… community talked about Polkadex, too. Polkadex was mentioned over 18,000 times on Twitter and over 200 times on Reddit!
Crazy month for partnerships too! Early in September, the Polkadex team was accepted into the highly selective Creative Destruction Lab program at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Participating in the CDL program will give our team the tools, mentorship, and expertise necessary to massively scale Polkadex.
We also partnered with Bruno Banana on a very successful NFT giveaway and auction. The Bruno monkeys are so cute! Speaking of giveaways, in preparation for the Mainnet launch, our partners Crypto Banter and Ash WSB both had huge PDEX giveaways! We’re super excited to have partnered with Crypto Birb and The Birb Nest and can’t wait to see what we achieve together.
Polkadex wouldn’t be what it is today without the Polkadex community’s continued support! Thanks to all its community members, the Polkadex community has been growing every month across the board. September was the month with the most growth yet!
Here’s a few amazing growth metrics:
- The Polkadex Twitter page grew by 20% (over 9,000 new followers) to reach a follower count of over 55,000
- The Polkadex Discord server has seen the most substantial growth of all with over 900 new members to bring the total member count to 1,450: almost triple the ~500 members at the start of the month!
- The Polkadex YouTube channel and official subreddit grew by 15% and 20% respectively and each easily surpassed the 1,000 subscribers/members milestones.
- We’ve also seen a 15% increase in the LinkedIn followers for Polkadex and over 20% growth in followers on Medium!
- The recently-launched Polkadex Telegram communities in languages other than English grew by an average of 55%
We also launched a Chinese Telegram channel and held three AMAs on three different platforms: Crowdcast, Twitter Spaces and Discord!
September was the craziest month yet for Polkadex… but it’s only going to get crazier in the coming months! Here’s what’s coming in October:
